CM reviews arrangements for ‘Prakash Parv’ celebrations

Patna: CM Nitish Kumar on Friday visited different areas of Patna Sahib to review the arrangements made for the ongoing 359th ‘Prakash Parv’ celebrations. These celebrations mark the birth anniversary of Guru Gobind Singh, the 10th Guru of Sikhs, at his birthplace in Patna.Accompanied by the state’s water resources department-cum-parliamentary affairs minister, Vijay Kumar Choudhary, the CM assessed the accommodation facilities and amenities for pilgrims. He asked the officials to monitor arrangements at the microlevel so that no devotee faces any kind of inconvenience.A large number of Sikh pilgrims from across the world, especially from Canada, US, and UK, as well as Punjab and Haryana in the country, visit the birthplace of Guru Gobind Singh during his ‘Prakash Parv’. Every year, the Bihar govt makes comprehensive arrangements for the convenience of the visiting pilgrims.“We have done several works regarding the facilities of devotees in our state, and attention has been paid to fine details. This is an important site for Sikh devotees from all over the world. It is a matter of pride for the people of Bihar that Guru Gobind Singh Ji Maharaj was born here. People are coming here in large numbers from outside; we have to ensure that they leave from here happily,” Nitish told the officials.The CM first inspected the ‘Prakash Punj’ constructed at Patna Sahib. He observed the spiritual teachings, exhibitions, and arts of Sikhism displayed in the multipurpose light centre and garden project.He also inspected the watchtower under construction in front of the ‘Prakash Punj’ and directed the officials to complete the work soon. “When this watchtower is built and ready, devotees will be able to see ‘Prakash Punj’ in a better way,” Nitish said.“The watchtower complex is being made green and attractive. Along with pond construction, arrangements are being made for walking and sitting so that devotees and local people visiting the place will be able to take advantage of it,” a communique issued from the chief minister’s office (CMO) said.After this, the CM inspected the newly constructed OP Sah community hall in Malsalami of Patna City. During the inspection, he collected detailed information about the facilities being provided to devotees. He also gave necessary instructions regarding cleanliness and security.The devotees present there greeted the CM and expressed their gratitude to him. The devotees appreciated the CM and said, “You have made very good arrangements. You have taken care of all our facilities; we are all very happy. No one can make arrangements as good as you have made.”From the community hall, the CM reached the Kangan Ghat. He inspected the tent city built for devotees at the Kangan Ghat and took information about the arrangements there. Officials informed the CM that a multilevel parking would be constructed at the Kangan Ghat.
