Vijay takes oath as Tamil Nadu CM, ends DMK-AIADMK era dominance
CHENNAI: TVK president C Joseph Vijay was sworn as chief minister of Tamil Nadu by governor R V Arlekar on Sunday morning.His party colleagues N Anand, Aadhav Arjuna, K G Arunraj, K A Sengottaiyan, P Venkatramanan, C T R Nirmal Kumar, Rajmohan, T K Prabhu and S Keerthana were also sworn in as ministers at the event held at Nehru Stadium.

Congress leader of the opposition Rahul Gandhi was present on the stage.While DMK and AIADMK leaders were absent, TNCC president K Selvapeunthagai was present.Vijay’s parents S A Chandrasekar and Shobana, actor Trisha, lottery baron Santiago Martin were among those present in the audience.The event started with Vande Mataram, in a shift from the existing practice of commencing govt events with Tamil Thaai Vaazhthu.
