Russian President Vladimir Putin revealed explosive new details about behind-the-scenes negotiations involving Iran’s nuclear program, claiming that Russia, the United States, Iran, and even Israel had once agreed on a confidential framework to transfer enriched uranium out of Iran. Speaking publicly, Putin said Moscow had successfully brokered a similar arrangement back in 2015 and was prepared to repeat the process to prevent further escalation in the Middle East. According to Putin, Russia proposed sending Iran’s enriched uranium to a “friendly country.” Putin claimed that all parties initially supported the proposal before negotiations collapsed after Washington allegedly pushed for the uranium to be transferred only to US territory. Tehran later hardened its stance and proposed joint uranium dilution projects inside Iran with Russian participation.
