Bhiwani: Continuing the trend seen in the Haryana Board Class XII results, girls dominated the Class X examinations as well, securing top positions and outperforming boys by a significant margin.
The Board of School Education Haryana (BSEH) on Thursday declared the results of the class 10 examinations, along with the results of the Open School and Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed.) examinations.
BSEH chairman Dr Pawan Kumar said the pass percentage for Class 10 stood at 89.6%, with over 2.4 lakh students passing, but 6,201 candidates have to reappear in the exam. Girls recorded a pass percentage of 91.6%, much higher than the boys' 87.7%. Rural students also fared better than their urban counterparts, registering a pass percentage of nearly 90.3%, compared to 87.9% in urban areas.
Deepika, a student of Adarsh Senior Secondary School in Miran village, around 30km from Bhiwani, secured the top position in the state by scoring 499 marks out of 500. Her father, Rajkumar, works as a clerk in the same school. Deepika said she wants to pursue BTech after completing Class XII.
Ronak of BSM senior secondary school in Bigowa village of Charkhi Dadri, Khushi of NCVM High School, Putthi Saman in Hisar, and Antu of Swami Vivekanand Senior Secondary School, Kheri Jalab in Hisar jointly secured the second position with 498 marks each.
Ronak's father Jagmal Singh is a small farmer, while her mother, Kamla, is a homemaker. He stays with her paternal aunt, who is a teacher in the same school. "My elder brother is pursuing MBBS from PGIMS Rohtak and I too want to become a doctor," she said, adding that she never attended private tuitions.
Kavyansh of Govt Senior Secondary school, Sahahpur Turk in Sonipat, and Diksha of Tagore Senior Secondary School, Mangali in Hisar, shared the third position with 497 marks each.
Private schools recorded a pass percentage of 92.45%, while government schools registered 87.23%. Among districts, Charkhi Dadri secured the top position in overall performance, followed by Jind and Mahendragarh, while Nuh district remained at the bottom.
