Woman hospitalisedafter assault by husband

Times News NetworkBhopal: Following a petty domestic dispute, a man inserted an iron pipe into the private parts of his 20-year-old wife in Mauganj district. The injured woman has been admitted to Sanjay Gandhi Medical College and Hospital in Rewa, where she is undergoing treatment.The incident took place in a village under the Shahpur police station area on Sunday afternoon. The woman was rushed to Sanjay Gandhi Medical College and Hospital, where she is undergoing treatment.The family did not report the incident to the police; however, after receiving information, a police team from Mauganj reached Rewa and recorded her statement. A case has been registered against the husband, and police have launched a hunt to arrest the accused.As per the statement given to the police, she said she was married to the accused in 2023. On May 14 this year, she saw him talking to another girl and recorded a video of him; however, the husband saw her and later broke her phone. On Sunday afternoon, at around 2 pm, her husband started abusing her mother and other relatives. When she intervened, the dispute took an ugly turn. He started thrashing her and later inserted an iron pipe into her private parts, leading to severe injuries, she told police.SP Mauganj Surendra Jain told TOI, “We got information about the incident and a team was sent to Rewa. The statement of the victim was recorded, and we are hopeful of arresting the accused soon. Her condition is stable now.”
