Bhopal: Two men were allegedly attacked with knives following disputes in their localities on Sunday, and police have registered cases of attempt to murder and attempt to commit culpable homicide against the accused.
In the first incident, a man was brutally attacked in Bismillah Colony in Aishbagh area allegedly after a minor dispute over a goat escalated late on Sunday night. According to police, Asif Khan, a resident of the colony, does private work and had reared a goat at his house. On Sunday evening, a local youth identified as Sohail allegedly made objectionable remarks about the goat, leading to an argument between the two. Local residents intervened and pacified the matter, following which Sohail left the spot.
However, around 8 pm, Sohail allegedly returned to Asif’s house along with his associates — identified as Parvez, Munna, Aman and another youth. The accused allegedly started abusing Asif and later barged into his house and assaulted him. During the attack, one of the accused allegedly stabbed Asif with a knife, leaving him seriously injured.
The accused fled after the incident. Police have registered a case against the named accused and others under charges of attempt to murder and launched a search for them.
In another incident reported in Gautam Nagar area,
Imran Ahmed, 35, a resident of Nariyalkheda, was allegedly attacked late on Sunday night by his brother-in-law Raja alias Sawar and his brother Faisal over a family issue. Police said the accused stabbed Imran during the assault, seriously injuring him. He was admitted to a hospital for treatment. Gautam Nagar police have registered a case of attempt to commit culpable homicide against both accused and initiated further investigation.
