Prayagraj: The Uttar Pradesh Udyog Vyapar Sangathan submitted a memorandum—addressed to the Governor—at the district magistrate’s office on Thursday condemning the opposition’s stance against ‘Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam’.
The delegation led by district president of the association Sunil Kesarwani, and spokesperson Rajesh Kesarwani, said that the Women’s Reservation Bill—introduced by the govt to enact the ‘Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam 2023’— was a historic and visionary initiative.
The implementation of this Act will ensure that the voices of the nation’s women resonate across the entire country, strengthening their participation in the legislative process, they said. The ‘Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam’ is not merely a piece of legislation, it’s a powerful instrument for bringing about positive social transformation—one that will reinforce the dignity, freedom, and self-reliance of women. This Bill paves the way for securing greater participation for women in education, employment, safety, and decision-making processes.
However, it is unfortunate that the opposition chose to oppose this Act. The Uttar Pradesh Udyog Vyapar Sangathan members claim that the issue of women’s rights is not the exclusive domain of any single political party or ideology, and it’s a matter inextricably linked to the overall development and progress of the entire nation. Society and the nation can truly be built only when women are empowered, they added.
