Senthamangalam Assembly constituency is located in Namakkal district of Tamil Nadu and is reserved for candidates belonging to the Scheduled Tribe category. In the 2026 assembly polls, P Chandrasekar emerged as the winner from Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam defeating AIADMK candidate C Chandrasekaran by a margin of 2,655 votes. P Chandrasekar secured 68,815 votes while Chandrasekaran fell behind with 66,160 votes. On the third place was DMK fielded P Poomala who gained 64,951 votes. The constituency forms part of the Namakkal Lok Sabha constituency and has generally witnessed contests involving the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK), the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK), and regional parties, reflecting the evolving political dynamics of the region.

In the 2016 Assembly elections, the constituency had 2,29,911 electors, with 1,89,917 valid votes polled. AIADMK candidate Chandrasekaran C secured victory with 91,339 votes, defeating DMK candidate Ponnusamy K, who received 79,006 votes. The margin of victory stood at 12,333 votes, giving the AIADMK a clear win in the constituency.Earlier, in the 2011 Assembly elections, Senthamangalam had 1,97,693 electors, with 1,61,295 valid votes recorded. Desiya Murpokku Dravida Kazhagam (DMDK) candidate Santhi R won the seat with 76,637 votes, defeating DMK candidate Ponnusamy K, who secured 68,132 votes. The victory margin stood at 8,505 votes, indicating a competitive electoral contest.The results across these elections suggest a politically competitive constituency, with victories alternating between different parties depending on alliances and broader state-level political trends in Tamil Nadu.
