Madurai: One can't assess Vijay's governance within two or 15 days as it would only be astrology, said
Makkal Needhi Maiam chief
Kamal Haasan in Madurai on Sunday.
"Shouldn't we give him six months' time? New people coming into politics is not something new; when independent India was formed, everyone was a new minister. So, we should neither underestimate newcomers nor expect too much from them," he said at Madurai airport in reply to questions from reporters.
"You are the ones who voted to see what would happen, so you must observe if it is functioning well, and we are also monitoring it," he added.
On a question regarding a new govt without Dravidian majors, he said, "As far as I am concerned, if someone from Tamil Nadu who speaks Tamil starts a party, it is a Dravidian party."
Asked about actor Rajinikanth's comment that he would have been jealous had Kamal won, while speaking about Vijay coming to power, Kamal said, "We compete, but we have never been jealous. We are the best sportsmen you can find in Tamil Nadu. We are in the cinema industry; even if we had played cricket, it would have been just like this," he added.
