Bhagwant Mann’s Remarks On PM Modi’s Foreign Visits Trigger BJP Counterattack

A political war of words erupted after Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann questioned Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s foreign visits while reacting to the PM’s appeal to save fuel. Mann asked why the Prime Minister could not “work from home” and criticised restrictions imposed in India despite global conflicts occurring elsewhere. Reacting strongly, BJP National Spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla accused Mann of making irresponsible remarks and defended PM Modi’s foreign outreach, saying his UAE visit helped strengthen India’s strategic petroleum reserves. BJP National General Secretary Tarun Chugh also slammed Mann, asserting that the Prime Minister’s foreign visits are aimed at securing opportunities, investments, and strategic gains for 1.4 billion Indians. The exchange has triggered a fresh political confrontation between the AAP and BJP.
