Kolkata: Visva-Bharati will hold guided heritage walks six days a week from Monday, keeping pace with the overwhelming demand from tourists.
The university had introduced guided walking tours in five slots of the core heritage zone — the asrama area of Santiniketan — for tourists around Aug, only on Sundays. Later, they increased the number of days to four — Friday, Saturday and Wednesday, apart from Sunday.
Visva-Bharati PRO Atig Ghosh said, “From now on, heritage walks will be held on Monday and Tuesday along with Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. On Monday, Tuesday, Friday and Saturday, the tours will be held in one slot between 3.30 pm and 4.30 pm. On Wednesday, there will be three slots starting from 11 am. On Sunday, there will be five slots starting 10 am. Thursday will be a holiday.”
Tickets for these walks will be available at the Rabindra-Bhavana ticket counter.
