The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority, which oversees the planning and development of infrastructure along the region covered by the Yamuna Expressway, has a plan in action called the YEIDA masterplan 2041.The proposed master plan aims to create a sustainable, efficient, and well connected region that is globally recognised. It aims to capitalise on the potential economic opportunity given by the International Airport.During the first phase, the perspective plans for the entire notified area, which includes six districts in Uttar Pradesh: Gautam Buddha Nagar, Bulandshahr, Aligarh, Hathras, Mathura, and Agra.The master plan specifically includes a ‘Draft Master Plan 2031’ for the two districts that fall under Delhi NCR: Gautam Budh Nagar and Bulandshahar.Let’s take a look at the key projects that fall under the NCR region.

1. Noida International Airport (Jewar Airport)

Located in Jewar, Gautam Budh Nagar district. The airport is the anchor project that is driving the entire masterplan-related development. It is expected to begin commercial operations by June 15. Starting with 12 million passengers annually, it is proposed to expand to 70 million passengers by 2050.

2. Airport city

It is projected to be India's largest integrated airport city covering 6,554 hectares around Sectors 7, 8, 9, 29, and 32 near Jewar Airport. Is is supposed to house business zones, logistics, commercial spaces, hospitality, recreational facilities.

3. Medical Device Park

A Medical Device Park has been proposed at Sector 28, YEIDA. Spanning over 350 acres, it will be north India’s first dedicated medical device park. The park is envisioned with a plan to help reduce manufacturing cost, while making indigenous and high-quality medical products that can compete in the global market.

4. Olympic city

A modern Olympic City and Olympic Village comprising 29 stadiums and nearly 5,500 lodging/housing units spanning 5,000 hectaresin Noida. This massive sports infrastructure will host international sporting events. The facility includes Olympic-level sports complexes, training centres, and recreational spaces, positioning the region as a destination for sports tourism and athletic development.

5. International Film City

Planned in hectares in Sector 21, just 15 minutes from Jewar Airport, the film city will feature film studios, production facilities, and cultural attractions. A land parcel of nearly 1,000 acres has been identified for the city, for a combination of commercial and industrial use

6. Pod Taxi

A Personal Rapid Transit (PRT) System will connect Film City with the Jewar International Airport. The special pod will offer a cost-effective and direct-to-destination mode of travel and will carry 4-6 passengers per taxi.

7. Logistics Park

A Multimodal Logistics Park (MMLP) facility is planned at Tappal Bajna, within the Aligarh district. It will serve as a massive storage and warehousing hub for the international airport. Reducing supply chain costs and seamlessly integrating the flow of freight through road, rail, and airways.

8. International investment zones

International investment zones like 'Japan City' and 'Singapore City', designed to attract investments specifically from such countries, will span around 500 acres each in Sector 5A and Sector 7 of Greater Noida, providing a complete ecosystem with infrastructure, incentives, and connectivity.

9. Heritage city

On the banks of the Yamuna, in Mathura, a heritage city has been proposed. The plan is to create a world-class hub for cultural and spiritual tourism. The city will include ashrams, riverfront parks, 'Pradarshani halls', lakes ,and markets for handicrafts.
