Stefon Diggs has had a quiet offseason. His girlfriend has not. Cardi B, yes, that Cardi B, the "Bodak Yellow" rapper currently on her sold-out Little Miss Drama Tour and mother of four, has been all over X this week, and not for tour updates. The Broncos receiver's partner is in the middle of a full-blown rap beef with Atlanta rapper Latto, and Thursday it got a very public second chapter. For the uninitiated: this is your NFL column. We cover it anyway.

Cardi B says she tried everything to fix things with Latto — privately. Latto put it on an album instead

Last September, a phone call leaked. In it, Cardi went off about Ice Spice, but Latto caught a stray, with Cardi calling her a "p***y" mid-rant. Cardi apologized publicly almost immediately, even offering to privately buy Latto a bag to make it right. Most people figured that was that.
Then last week, Latto dropped her fourth studio album Big Mama. Track called "Gimme Dat." Lyrics referencing the bag offer. The message was clear, the apology didn't land, and Latto had receipts in bar form.
Thursday, hours after Latto sat down with The Breakfast Club and confirmed the diss was exactly what everyone thought it was, Cardi posted a lengthy statement on X. She said she never meant the original comment the way it came out, that what she actually meant was that Latto was "too forgiving" in a situation, not an insult.
She cited being eight months pregnant, freshly post-album, and emotionally overwhelmed when the call leaked as context, not an excuse, she was careful to note. Then came the receipts. Cardi said she reached out to Latto's manager, her sister, and texted Latto directly across 2025 and 2026, trying to take full responsibility privately. "I always had love and respect for you," she wrote. "I always wanted to make it right but making it right looks different for the both of us… I wanted to connect with you but you wanted to address it on your album."That last line? That's the whole beef in one sentence.Latto has since said she's open to a conversation. Whether that conversation happens off X or on another track remains to be seen.
