Four-year-old girl dies after being accidently left in locked car for three hours
Indore: A four-year-old girl died allegedly due to suffocation after she was accidentally left inside a locked car for nearly three hours in Nandanvan Colony under the Juni Indore police station limits on Sunday afternoon. The girl was daughter of an iron trader Hasan Noor. The family acquaintances told police that the minor had gone to a workshop with her grandparents and two other children. While returning home around noon, all passengers disembarked from the vehicle, failing to notice that the minor had fallen asleep in the back seat.Family members stated that the child had a habit of falling asleep easily during travel.“At around 3 pm, when the family noticed her absence and began a search, they found her unresponsive inside the locked vehicle. She was rushed to a nearby private hospital, where doctors pronounced her dead on arrival,” Juni Indore police station in-charge Anil Gupta said.He said that the department received information from a private hospital regarding the incident. “A case was registered and the body was sent for a postmortem examination on Monday,” the official said.Preliminary assessments suggest that extreme summer temperature caused a rapid buildup of heat and a depletion of oxygen inside the sealed vehicle, leading to fatal suffocation.Gupta said that formal statement of the grieving family members was not recorded. Further legal action will be determined based on the findings of the postmortem report.
