Civic body submits proposals for 8,136 housing units under PMAY 2.0
Indore: Indore Municipal Corporation (IMC) has moved forward with the implementation of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) 2.0 by submitting five detailed project reports (DPRs) to Madhya Pradesh govt for approval.
The civic body has proposed to construct a total of 8,136 residential units catering to the economically weaker section (EWS). The proposed housing distribution includes 6,048 units of one BHK, 1,368 units of two BHK and 720 units of three BHK flats.
The Centre has already granted approval for two of these DPRs located in Tapti Parisar (Treasure Fantasy) and Badhiya Keema areas. This approval facilitates immediate commencement of these specific projects.
The IMC commissioner Kshitij Singhal accompanied by additional commissioner Arth Jain on Wednesday inspected construction sites at Sanawadia, Badhiya Keema and Umri Kheda. The visit was aimed at assessing the progress and the feasibility of the allocated lands.
Singhal instructed officials to ensure that eligible beneficiaries receive the benefits of the housing projects promptly. He emphasised maintaining transparency and strictly adhering to govt guidelines during execution.
“Beyond providing affordable housing, the projects are designed to assist in relocation of families whose current structures have been marked for removal due to city road development work. The IMC aims to balance urban infrastructure growth with the systematic resettlement of affected residents,” he said.
