Congress leader and former MLA Ashwin Joshi died on Friday following a cardiac arrest. He was 66.
Joshi, who had reportedly been battling respiratory issues and a chronic leg ailment, suffered cardiac arrest around 8 am. He was rushed to Shalby Hospital, where doctors were unable to revive him.
A nephew of veteran Congress leader Mahesh Joshi, Ashwin represented Indore-3 assembly constituency for three terms. He began his career in student politics and rose to become a prominent figure in state Congress, maintaining a close political association with former chief minister
Digvijaya Singh.
Family sources said that his funeral would take place once his son arrives from abroad.
