INDORE: A policeman was found dead on Friday morning in Khandwa district’s Padmanagar area.
The deceased was identified as Ansingh Nargave, a constable in state police. Passersby on Indore highway, noticed a body hanging from a tree opposite Balaji Dham Colony and alerted local authorities. Police reached the spot and on searching a bag found near the site, identified the man as a resident of Murari village in Barwani district.
Nargave was posted in Rewa district and was currently serving at Garh police station.
According to Padmanagar police station in-charge Jagdish Jamre, initial inquiries with Rewa police revealed that Nargave had taken five days leave from Tuesday to visit his hometown in Barwani.
Police have secured the body for postmortem examination and informed his family members in Barwani.
“We have summoned his relatives to Khandwa for questioning. We will also coordinate with Rewa Police to determine if there were any professional or personal issues that he faced,” TI Jamre said.
