RTE admission second phase begins, lottery on May 20
Indore: The State Education Centre has announced the second phase of Right to Education (RTE) free admission process for 2026-27 academic session. The move comes after completion of the first phase, following which details of vacant seats in private schools have been uploaded on the official portal.Officials said no fresh applications would be accepted in the second phase. Only candidates who had already registered earlier would be eligible to participate in the process.Parents who had submitted applications but could not complete document verification during the first phase have been given another opportunity till May 9. Such applicants can visit their selected Jan Shiksha Kendra for verification of documents. Once found eligible, they will be allowed to update their school preferences for the second phase.The State Education Centre has also allowed students who were not allotted any school in the first round, as well as those who did not take admission in the allotted school, to participate again. These applicants can update fresh choices for schools with vacant seats between May 11 and May 16.Officials stated that parents have been advised to carefully select schools where seats remain vacant to improve the chances of allotment in the second phase.
The online lottery for seat allotment will be conducted on May 20. Students selected through the lottery will be able to complete admissions in the allotted private schools between May 20 and June 10.The State Education Centre has also issued instructions to district collectors and district project coordinators to ensure smooth implementation of the process within the prescribed timeline.
