Asad backs INDIA Veep pick Justice Reddy

Hyderabad: Chief minister A Revanth Reddy on Sunday expressed gratitude to AIMIM president and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi for his decision to support the INDIA alliance vice-presidential candidate, Justice B Sudershan Reddy, in the election scheduled for September 9.In a post on X, the CM stated: "Thank you, asadowaisi bhai, Lok Sabha MP and national president of AIMIM, for coming forward in support of Justice Sudershan Reddy as vice-president, with a common national interest initiative."The chief minister's office (CMO) had reached out to Owaisi, requesting his support for Justice Sudershan Reddy. The vice-presidential electoral college comprises members of both the Rajya Sabha and the Lok Sabha. Justice Sudershan Reddy is contesting against the BJP-led NDA candidate, CP Radhakrishnan.On Saturday, Owaisi posted on X: "Aimim_national will extend its support to Justice Reddy, a fellow Hyderabadi and a respected jurist. I also spoke to Justice Reddy."
