AIADMK candidate K P Munusamy, who polled 74,553 votes. TVK candidate S R Sampanghi finished third with 63,907 votes.
The Veppanahalli constituency witnessed a strategic high-stakes battle in the 2026 Assembly elections, with AIADMK re-nominating veteran heavyweight K. P. Munusamy. He faced a vigorous challenge from P. S. Srinivasan of the DMK, a local agriculturalist. The contest was further electrified by S. R. Sampangi of the TVK, who successfully mobilised the youth and Telugu-speaking demographic, and R. Nagaraj of the NTK, focusing on agricultural rights and granite mining regulation.
The 2021 election was a tight race where K. P. Munusamy (AIADMK) won with 94,104 votes (45.87%), narrowly defeating P. Murugan (DMK), who polled 91,050 votes. In 2016, the seat was held by P. Murugan (DMK) with 88,952 votes, defeating AIADMK’s Madhu by 5,228 votes.
Voter turnout reached a record 89.79%, surpassing the 81.62% from 2021.
