Alliance standings across Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, Puducherry and Kerala
Counting is underway across four states with leads still shifting in several constituencies. In Tamil Nadu, where 118 seats are needed for a majority in the 234-seat assembly, independent and smaller party candidates cumulatively hold a tally of 115 seats, with 10 declared and 105 leading, leaving them just 3 short of the majority mark. SPA has a tally of 60 seats, with 7 won and 53 leading, while NDA is at 55, all in leads. In West Bengal, BJP has crossed the majority mark of 148 in the 294-seat house on the strength of its tally of 179, with 11 won and 168 leading. TMC trails with a tally of 106, comprising 2 won and 104 leading. Candidates from other parties or independent candidates cumulatively lead in 8 seats in West Bengal. In Puducherry, NDA holds a tally of 18 in the 30-seat assembly where 16 are needed for a majority, with 13 seats already won and 5 in hand, placing it well ahead. SPA has a tally of 5, with 2 won and 3 leading. In Kerala, UDF has crossed the majority mark of 71 in the 140-seat assembly with a tally of 87, comprising 68 won and 19 leading. LDF trails with 30 won and 6 leading for a tally of 36. Candidates from other parties or independent candidates cumulatively hold a tally of 17 seats in Kerala.
