Alliance tallies shift across Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, Puducherry and Kerala
Counting is underway across four states and the numbers are moving quickly. In Tamil Nadu, where 118 seats mark the majority in a 234-seat house, independent and smaller party candidates cumulatively lead in enough seats to hold a tally of 115, just three short of that mark, with 10 seats already decided in their favour. SPA has a tally of 60, having won 7 and leading in 53, while NDA is at 55 seats on current leads alone with no wins declared yet. In West Bengal, BJP has crossed the majority mark of 148 on tally, sitting at 179 across 11 won and 168 leading seats in the 294-seat assembly, though declared wins are still coming in. TMC trails with a tally of 106, comprising 2 won and 104 leading, and candidates from other parties or independent candidates cumulatively lead in 8 seats. In Puducherry, NDA holds a tally of 18 in the 30-seat house where 16 is the majority, having already won 13 and leading in 5 more, putting the alliance past the majority mark on combined count. SPA has a tally of 5 and trails in the union territory. In Kerala, UDF leads the 140-seat assembly count with a tally of 87, comprising 68 won and 19 leading, well past the majority mark of 71. LDF has a tally of 36, with 30 seats won and 6 in hand on leads, and candidates from other parties or independent candidates cumulatively account for a tally of 17 across the state.
