NEW DELHI: Samarth Singh, the husband of Twisha Sharma, a model-turned-actor from Noida who was found dead at her matrimonial home in Bhopal, on Friday appeared at a Jabalpur court to surrender, his lawyer said.

He withdrew the plea from the single bench of Justice Avanindra Kumar Singh. With this, he was left with little option but to surrender.
The anticipatory bail plea had been moved before the high court on Thursday after a lower court rejected his application last week.
Singh’s mother, Giribala Singh — a retired district and sessions judge who currently heads the Bhopal Consumer Court — was granted anticipatory bail by a Bhopal court last week. She has also been named in the FIR registered in the case.

While her family accused her in-laws of dowry harassment and abetment to suicide, the Singh family alleged that she was addicted to drugs.
Police registered an FIR against Samarth Singh and his mother under Sections 80(2), 85 and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, along with relevant provisions of the Dowry Prohibition Act.
Police had also announced a cash reward of Rs 30,000 for information leading to Samarth Singh’s arrest and moved court seeking the revocation of his passport.
