Britney Spears takes plea deal in DUI charges; to serve 12 months probation with 1 day jail sentence

Earlier this week, it was confirmed that famed singer Britney Spears was being served a DUI charge after a reckless driving incident in California. Now, it has been revealed that Spears has officially taken a plea deal and has been sentenced to spending 1 day in jail, among other terms. Following this, she also made her official comeback to social media with a cryptic post. Till earlier last week, she was also in rehab for quite some time, though she left the facility after feeling better.PEOPLE reported that the singer officially pleaded guilty to the DUI charges that had been imposed on her earlier last week. She has been officially sentenced to 1 day in prison, which will count as time served, along with 12 months' worth of summary probation. On top of that, she has also been ordered to attend a mandatory three-month DUI program, where drivers complete 30 hours worth of classes.The sentence was served by Ventura County Commissioner Matthew Nemerson. She was also given a small fine of USD 571. According to the reports, she has also agreed to see a therapist once a month and a psychiatrist twice a month for her health and mental well-being.Her legal rep also issued a statement regarding the matter, citing that “She (Britney) has taken significant steps to implement positive change, which is clearly reflected in the Ventura County District Attorney's decision to reduce the charge in this case and dismiss the DUI. Britney appreciates this discretion and is also grateful for the outpouring of support she has received.”After it was revealed that the ‘Toxic’ singer has taken a plea deal in her recent DUI case, she ended up returning to social media and making a cryptic post.
