NEW DELHI: In Assam's Manas constituency, BPF's Thaneswar Basumatary won the elections in 2026 with a margin of 47,410 votes. beating Raijor Dal's Anjan Talukdar. BPF is in alliance with BJP.Voting for all 126 constituencies took place on April 9, with turnout exceeding 85%—among the highest seen in recent years.Importantly, the strong voter participation was evident not only in rural regions but also in urban areas, indicating widespread and energetic engagement from voters across the state.The Manas Assembly constituency is among the 126 legislative constituencies in Assam, a northeastern state of the country, and was newly established in 2023.
