Eravipuram election results 2026: RSP's Vishnu Mohan defeats CPI(M)'s M Noushad by 8,803 votes

In Kerala’s Eravipuram, RSP's Adv. Vishnu Mohan received 64,383 votes, defeating CPI(M)'s M. Noushad by 8,803 votes. Noushad got 55,580 votes.Eravipuram Assembly constituency is a general seat in Kollam district, Kerala, encompassing southern coastal areas around Eravipuram, Paravur, and Mayyanad with fishing communities, cashew workers, and backwaters shaping its politics.The current MLA is M Noushad from CPI(M), elected in 2021 with 71,573 votes (56.25 per cent), defeating RSP's Babu Divakaran (43,452 votes, 34.15 per cent) by 28,121 votes, while BDJS's Ranjith Raveendran got 8,468 votes (6.66 per cent).For the 2026 elections, the participating candidates are M Noushad (CPI(M)), Adv Vishnu Mohan (RSP), and Saji D Anand (BDJS).Key issues include coastal erosion and TS canal flooding impacting fishing; poor urban drainage causing waterlogging; youth unemployment despite Gulf remittances; erratic water supply; overburdened PHCs; illegal sand mining polluting backwaters; monsoon power outages; rising land prices; traffic near markets; inadequate public transport; and waste management gaps challenging this LDF stronghold's coastal economy.
