Customs seize 5 kg hydroponic ganja worth Rs 5 cr at Trichy airport

Trichy: The Air Intelligence Unit of the customs department at Trichy International Airport seized 5 kg of hydroponic ganja valued around Rs 5 crore and arrested a passenger on Saturday.Customs officials acted on specific intelligence inputs about an attempt to smuggle ganja through the airport. A male passenger who arrived from Kuala Lumpur was intercepted and his baggage was searched. Officials recovered the contraband packed in multiple sealed pouches concealed in the baggage.
