Man attacks landlord over rent dispute

T'puram: Museum police on Saturday arrested a 49-year-old man for allegedly attempting to murder his landlord after being asked to pay house rent.The accused, identified as Premkumar of Valiamala, was taken into custody in connection with the violent attack that occurred around 10pm on Thursday at Nandancode. According to police, the incident stemmed from a dispute over unpaid rent. Investigators said the accused allegedly barged into the landlord's residence in a fit of rage after being questioned about the rent dues. He reportedly abused the landlord before attacking him with a wooden plank. The victim sustained injuries to both hands, head and face. The landlord is currently undergoing treatment at a hospital. Police said the attack was treated as an attempted murder case.Following the arrest, the accused was produced before a local court, which remanded him in judicial custody. TNN
