Marandi alleges sexual abuse, cover-up at Birsa Jail

Ranchi: Opposition leader Babulal Marandi alleged a senior Birsa Munda Central Jail officer “mentally and physically exploited” a woman inmate and impregnated her. In a letter to CM Hemant Soren, he claimed efforts were on to destroy evidence, transfer witnesses, and buy silence. JMM’s Supriyo Bhattacharya said, “If there is a crime, action would be taken.”
