Farmer, 2 oxen electrocuted in Gumla
Gumla: A farmer and his two oxen were electrocuted at the Itkiri-Navadih village under the Ghaghra police station of the district on Sunday morning. The deceased has been identified as 45-year-old Budhman Oraon.Speaking about the incident, Surajmuni Oraon, the wife of the deceased, said, "My husband was going to the field with the two oxen. On the way, the oxen came in contact with a live wire fallen on the road. He tried to save the animals when he also came in contact with the wire and died."She blamed the electricity department's negligence as the reason for her husband's death. Other villagers said electric wires have become old and have not yet been replaced.Assistant engineer Karma Oraon of the electricity department said, "We have been informed about the incident.
