Security guard arrested for assaulting four minors

Pune: A security guard at a residential society was arrested for allegedly attempting to molest four minor girls on Friday. The harrowing ordeal ended after a 10-year-old girl displayed exemplary courage, reporting the "predator in uniform" despite death threats. A case under the provisions of the Pocso Act was registered with the Bhosari MIDC police."The gaurd was appointed the same day (Friday) and we have arrested him," senior police inspector Ganesh Jamdar of the Bhosari MIDC police station said.The incident occurred on Friday afternoon when the accused lured four girls — aged 10, 8, 8, and 6 years — to the terrace of the seventh floor of a housing society under the pretext of showing them the society's water tank. Taking advantage of the afternoon lull, he indulged in obscene acts and attempted to sexually assault the minors. To ensure their silence, the accused reportedly threatened to kill themif they spoke about it to their parents. However, the 10-year-old girl later told everything to her mother.
