CM lays foundation stones for six projects in Patna worth Rs 1,433 crore

Chief Minister Nitish Kumar initiated six development projects in Patna district, totaling over Rs 1,433 crore. These projects include road widening, cremation ground development, temple beautification, bridge construction, and drainage system improvements. The CM emphasized that the road widening from Didarganj to Karjan will ease traffic flow and improve commuting for the people.

Patna: CM Nitish Kumar on Wednesday laid foundation stones through remote control for six projects in Patna district, with a total cost of over Rs 1,433 crore. He laid the foundation stones by unveiling plaques remotely from the event sites at Didarganj and Barh.The projects include the widening of State Highway-106 (Didarganj-Fatuha-Bakhtiyarpur-Karjan road) into a four-lane at a cost of over Rs 1,065 crore, and 45.7km stretch of Bakhtiyarpur-Barh-Mokama road from Athmalgola to Mokama Bata Chowk at a cost of Rs 249 crore, besides development of a cremation ground and construction of an electric crematorium near Umanath Temple complex in Barh at a cost of Rs 9 crore, as well as beautification of the temple complex at a cost of Rs 67 crore.The other two projects are a bridge over Ghoba river between Hidayatpur and Manjhauli in Bakhtiyarpur at a cost of Rs 11 crore and Barh water drainage system at a cost of Rs 29 crore.The CM also offered prayers at the Umanath Temple in Barh and Radha Krishna temple in Bakhtiyarpur, seeking happiness, peace and prosperity for the state.He conducted an on-site inspection of the bypass on Didarganj-Karjan road and provided necessary instructions to the officials.
“The widening of the four-lane road from Didarganj to Karjan will facilitate easy flow of traffic. The construction of an elevated bypass in Bakhtiyarpur and a flyover in Fatuha will make commuting easier for people,” he said.Nitish also visited Sirhi Ghat in Bakhtiyarpur and took updates from officials on the ongoing development works there.Water resources and parliamentary affairs minister Vijay Kumar Chaudhary, assembly speaker Nand Kishor Yadav, MLA Gyanendra Singh Gyanu, CM's principal secretary Deepak Kumar, secretary Kumar Ravi, road construction department secretary Sandeep Kumar R Pudakalkutti, Patna divisional commissioner Chandrasekhar Singh, municipal commissioner Animesh Parasar, Bihar State Road Development Corporation Limited managing director Shirshat Kapil Ashok, district magistrate Thiyagarajan SM, senior superintendent of police Kartikeya K Sharma and other senior officials were present at the programme.
