38-yr-old rapes minor cousin in Chandur Bazar

Amravati: A 38-year-old man allegedly raped his 16-year-old cousin at her residence in Chandur Bazar tehsil on May 9. A case was registered for rape and under provision of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. The accused is absconding, said police.Police said the incident occurred in a village in Chandur Bazar. The girl's mother and sister were in their native village, while her father was working when the accused, Sachin, entered the house, locked the door, and sexually assaulted her, said police.The accused allegedly threatened her with dire consequences if she disclosed the incident to anyone. The next day, the girl informed her mother, following which a complaint was lodged at Asegaon police station.
