Rly station devpt focused on passenger safety: DRM
Mysuru: The Mysuru Railway Division is stepping up efforts to modernise railway infrastructure and improve passenger amenities across the region, said Mudit Mittal, divisional railway manager, Mysuru Division, South Western Railway, while inaugurating the 70th Railway Week Celebration 2025-26 in Mysuru.Addressing railway employees and officials, the DRM said the Railways has intensified station development works with a focus on passenger safety, accessibility and convenience. As part of these initiatives, platform height enhancement works are being carried out at several stations to facilitate safer and easier boarding for passengers, especially senior citizens and disabled travellers.Highlighting the progress under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, he said 15 stations under the Mysuru division have been identified for redevelopment. Several projects have already been completed, while the remaining works are expected to commence within the next four to five months. He said the redevelopment programme is aimed at transforming railway stations in both urban and rural areas with modern facilities and improved passenger infrastructure.
