Forensic trail nailed Aamair
Lucknow: Forensic evidence had established the involvement of a single male assailant in the brutal murders, ruling out earlier suspicion on the woman.Police said multiple distinct single adult male footprints were documented in and around the house, particularly near the entry and exit points. Latent fingerprints lifted from door panels, household items and surfaces near the bodies did not match those of the children or their family members, but were consistent with the presence of an adult male at the scene.Bloodstain pattern analysis indicated that the children were attacked with bricks, grinding stone (sil batta) recovered from the house. “The positioning of the bodies and the distribution of blood stains suggested a planned and sequential attack, not a crime of impulse,” a cop said.. Preliminary findings from the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) indicated that Gaasia Khatton was first sedated, then killed, and her body dumped in the drain.Based on FSL inputs, police believe the murders occurred in stages. “The woman appears to have been incapacitated first. The children were then killed one after another, possibly to avoid resistance,” said superintendent of police Prachi Singh.Police recovered clothes belonging to the woman from Aamir Ahmad’s home.
The clothes bore visible blood stains, which have been sent for forensic examination to match with samples collected from the crime scene.Further evidence gathered from mobile phone records, CCTV footage in nearby lanes, and local intelligence pointed to Aamir as the prime suspect. Police said the forensic footprint and fingerprint patterns recovered from the house were consistent with those of the accused.
