Three arrested with 1.13kg MDMA near Pantheerankavu
Kozhikode: Police arrested three men with more than 1.13kg of MDMA near the service road close to Capkon City, Pantheerankavu on Saturday. The arrested persons are Malappuram natives Muhammad Arshlal, 25, Adilsha, 20, and Muhammad Farhan, 22. Police also seized a car used for drug trafficking.The operation was led by Kozhikode city narcotic assistant commissioner Abdul Kareem. Members of Dansaf and Pantheerankavu police were part of the team. Police said that the accused were under surveillance by the Dansaf team, which had information about a large consignment of MDMA being brought into the city. The drugs, sourced from Delhi and Goa, were distributed in packets to small traders in Kozhikode and Malappuram, police said. According to the police, the accused admitted that the drugs were intended for sale during holiday season, with students being the primary buyers. Adilsha already has cases against him for possession and use of MDMA. The investigation is under way to identify their suppliers and customers.
