Auto driver arrested for raping woman in Adoor

Kottayam: An autorickshaw driver was arrested for sexually assaulting a married woman in Adoor, Pathanamthitta, on Saturday. Adoor police arrested Vinod, 38, from Thattayil, Adoor. Police said Vinod raped the woman, who was living separately from her husband, after drugging her with spiked juice and recorded nude visuals on his mobile phone. The complaint states that he repeatedly abused her by threatening her with these visuals. The first incident that led to the case occurred in Feb last year. The complaint also alleges that the accused continuously harassed the woman both mentally and physically by threatening to release the explicit visuals. Further, the woman told police that Vinod assaulted her in retaliation for informing his wife about the abuse.
