Hyderabad: Chief minister A
Revanth Reddy on Monday directed officials to focus on the development of all temples, especially Medaram and Basara, by considering local sentiment as well as the opinion of residents and purohits.
During a review meeting on temple development, the CM instructed officials to prepare a 100-day action plan to complete all works, including basic amenities and parking facilities for devotees, before the commencement of Sammakka-Saralamma Jatara. The Medaram Jatara in 2026 is scheduled to take place from Jan 28 to 31.
Meanwhile, the officials presented a draft master plan for the development of the Medaram Sammakka-Saralamma temple and Basara Sri Gnana Saraswati temple. "All structures should be built using natural stone and ensure proper entry and exit points, along with adequate parking facilities, especially in view of the massive gatherings expected at the Medaram Jatara," the chief minister said.
He also instructed officials to prepare plans for constructing check dams to preserve water in the Jampanna stream for future needs. On the development of the Basara temple, Revanth said that local sentiments must be respected and inputs from priests and local experts should be considered before finalising the plan.
