Boy murdered by his two friends in Coimbatore

COIMBATORE: A 13-year-old boy was murdered by two of his minor friends in Coimbatore. Police found his body lying under a bridge near Irugur on Monday, three days after he went missing. According to police, B Dhivish, 13, of New Colony near Irugur went with his friends to a nearby lake on Friday for fishing and did not return. His father, Bharathiraja, filed a missing complaint with the Singanallur police on Saturday. During initial investigations, two of Dhivish’s friends told police that an unidentified man on a scooter, claiming to be his relative, had taken Dhivish away. Police registered a case and continued the search. On Monday morning, police found Dhivish’s body under a bridge near Irugur. They detained two minor boys for questioning. During interrogation, it was revealed that Dhivish, a 15-year-old boy and another 13-year-old boy were friends. Dhivish had reportedly been staying at home for the past four months after discontinuing his studies. Police said a verbal altercation had taken place between the boys a few days before while they were shopping.
On Friday evening, the 15-year-old called Dhivish and asked him to meet him near a lake near the Masaniamman temple in Irugur. When Dhivish arrived, both boys were present and took him near a bridge. Police said the 15-year-old was intoxicated. He got into another argument with Dhivish. He attacked him with an empty liquor bottle and a stone, killing him on the spot. In a separate incident, an unidentified man’s body was found on the bund of the Aachankulam near Neelambur on Monday morning. Police said a man, who had gone fishing,noticed the naked male body lying on the lake bund with visible facial injuries and alerted the Neelambur police. Police recovered the body, and fingerprint experts, forensic officials and dog squad teams were sent to examine the scene and collect evidence. The deceased has not yet been identified, and no suspects have been identified so far. The body was sent to ESI Hospital, Singanallur, for post-mortem examination.
