Prayagraj: After the digital crop surveys of Kharif and Rabi crops, the survey for Zaid crops commenced in Prayagraj district on Friday (May 1) and will continue until May 31, covering 13,50,805 land plots (Gatas) falling under the Zaid crop cultivation area within the district.
The initiative aims to generate accurate crop-related data and ensure that farmers receive the benefits of govt schemes in a transparent manner as well as generate employment opportunity in rural areas.
Deputy director (agriculture), Pawan Kumar Vishwakarma, said that digital surveys of numerous fields and crops are underway at all the revenue villages across the district.
Youths can earn up to Rs 30,000 by conducting digital crop surveys for one month. For the survey, it is mandatory for them to possess an Android mobile phone.
Those interested may obtain their official IDs by contacting the govt officials like Nayab Tehsildar or the ADO (agriculture) of their respective Tehsil. Once an ID is generated, a dedicated application will be uploaded to their mobile phone, enabling them to conduct the digital crop surveys.
To conduct a digital crop survey, one simply needs to visit the designated field and select the specific crop name from the options provided within the mobile application.
This action will instantly display the complete details of the concerned farmer.
A payment of Rs 10 is provided for conducting a digital crop survey of a single ‘Khasra’ and an individual may conduct digital crop surveys for a maximum of 3,000 ‘Khasras.
State govt had formally initiated digital crop survey of all 93,870 revenue villages across 75 districts of the state two years ago in a key farmer-centric move. It helps to get idea of the type of crops sown and the type of irrigation methods adopted across all farmlands in the state.
