NDA, BJP and UDF lead the pack across four state counts
Counting is underway across four states, Assam, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, and Kerala, with leads shifting as rounds progress. In Assam, where 64 seats are needed for a majority in the 126-seat assembly, NDA has won 28 seats and is leading in 69 more, giving it a tally of 97, well past the majority mark if those leads hold. The Congress-led combine has a tally of 22, all from leads, while candidates from other parties or independents cumulatively account for 7 seats. In Tamil Nadu, the majority mark stands at 118 in a 234-seat house. SPA holds a tally of 60, with 7 won and 53 leading, while NDA has a tally of 55, all from leads. Candidates from other parties or independents cumulatively lead in 115 seats, still 3 short of the majority mark. In West Bengal, BJP has won 11 seats and is leading in 168, putting its tally at 179 in the 294-seat assembly where 148 are needed, crossing the majority threshold in leads if those holds. TMC has a tally of 106, with 2 won and 104 leading, while candidates from other parties or independents cumulatively account for 8 seats. In Kerala, UDF has won 68 seats and is leading in 19 more for a tally of 87 in the 140-seat house, crossing the 71-seat majority mark in its combined count. LDF has won 30 and is leading in 6, giving it a tally of 36, while candidates from other parties or independents cumulatively hold a tally of 17.
