NDA, BJP and UDF lead as counting progresses across four states
Votes are being counted across four states, Assam, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, and Kerala, with leads shifting as rounds come in. In Assam, where 64 seats are needed for a majority in the 126-seat assembly, NDA holds a tally of 97, having won 28 and leading in 69 more, crossing the majority mark on current trends. The Congress-led alliance has a tally of 22, all leads, while candidates from other parties and independents cumulatively account for a tally of 7. In Tamil Nadu, the majority mark stands at 118 in a 234-seat house. SPA has a tally of 60, with 7 seats won and 53 leads, and needs 58 more to reach the majority mark. NDA is trailing with a tally of 55, all leads, needing 63 more. Candidates from other parties and independents cumulatively hold a tally of 115, with 10 seats won and 105 leads, and need 3 more to cross the majority mark if those leads hold. In West Bengal, where 148 seats decide the majority across 294 constituencies, BJP holds a tally of 179, with 11 seats won and 168 leads, crossing the majority mark on current counts. TMC is trailing with a tally of 106, comprising 2 won and 104 leads. Candidates from other parties and independents cumulatively account for a tally of 8. In Kerala, the majority mark is 71 in the 140-seat assembly. UDF leads the count with a tally of 87, having already won 68 seats and leading in 19 more, crossing the majority mark at this stage. LDF is trailing with a tally of 36, with 30 seats won and 6 leads. Candidates from other parties and independents cumulatively hold a tally of 17, with 13 seats won and 4 leads.
