NDA, BJP lead counts across Assam, West Bengal and Puducherry
Counting is underway across four states and union territories, with leads shaping up sharply in Assam, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, and Puducherry. In Assam, where 64 seats are needed for a majority in the 126-seat assembly, NDA has won 20 seats and is leading in 77 more, taking its tally to 97, well past the majority mark if those leads hold. Congress and its allies are leading in 21 seats with no wins declared yet. In Tamil Nadu, the majority mark stands at 118 in a 234-seat house. SPA has won 7 seats and is leading in 50, giving it a tally of 57, while NDA is leading in 55 with no wins declared, placing its tally at 55. Candidates from other parties and independents cumulatively lead in enough seats to push their tally to 118 in Tamil Nadu. In West Bengal, BJP has won 8 seats and is leading in 192, building a tally of 200 against a majority mark of 148, while TMC has won 1 seat and is leading in 83, with a tally of 84. Candidates from other parties and independents cumulatively account for a tally of 9 in West Bengal. In Puducherry, where 16 seats decide a majority in the 30-seat assembly, NDA has won 13 seats and is leading in 7 more for a tally of 20, already past the majority mark if leads hold. SPA has a tally of 5, with 2 wins and 3 leads. Candidates from other parties and independents cumulatively hold a tally of 5 in Puducherry.
