Alliance standings across Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, Puducherry and Kerala
Counting is underway across four states and the numbers are shifting rapidly. In Tamil Nadu, where 118 seats are needed for a majority in the 234-seat assembly, independent and smaller party candidates cumulatively hold a tally of 115 seats, with 10 declared and 105 leads still in progress, leaving them just 3 short of the majority mark. SPA has a tally of 60 seats while NDA stands at 55, both trailing at this stage. In West Bengal, BJP is leading in enough seats to cross the majority mark of 148 in the 294-seat house if those leads hold, with 11 seats won and 168 leads giving it a tally of 179. TMC trails with a tally of 106, having won 2 and leading in 104. Candidates from other parties or independent candidates cumulatively lead in 8 seats in West Bengal. In Puducherry, NDA has won 13 seats and is leading in 5 more for a tally of 18, crossing the majority mark of 16 in the 30-seat assembly if those leads hold. SPA has a tally of 5 in Puducherry. In Kerala, UDF holds a tally of 87 across the 140-seat assembly, with 68 seats won and 19 leads, well past the majority mark of 71 if those leads hold. LDF trails with a tally of 36, having won 30 and leading in 6. Candidates from other parties or independent candidates cumulatively hold a tally of 17 seats in Kerala.
