NEW DELHI: Bijoy Malakar of the Bharatiya Janata Party won the Ram Krishna Nagar constituency with 1,34,013 votes, defeating Congress candidate Suruchi Roy by a margin of 83,765 votes. Roy secured 50,248 votes. AIUDF's Anup Kumar Das Talukdar finished third with 1,302 votes.Nine candidates contested from Ram Krishna Nagar in Assam's 2026 Assembly Election, along with NOTA.Ram Krishna Nagar assembly constituency is one of the 126 constituencies in the Assam Legislative Assembly. It is a general category seat and is not reserved for Scheduled Castes (SCs) or Scheduled Tribes (STs). The constituency falls under the Karimganj Lok Sabha segment.

In the 2021 assembly elections, BJP candidate Bijoy Malakar won the seat by defeating Congress candidate Sambhu Sing Mallah. He secured victory with a margin of 36,221 votes.According to Election Commission data, the constituency had 1,37,175 registered voters in 2021. This included 70,261 male voters and 65,234 female voters, with no third-gender voters recorded.
