Sathya M of Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam won the Krishnarayapuram constituency with a margin of 3503 votes. She garnered 62378 votes, while the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam candidate Dr. Dhivya S came second with 58875 votes.
Krishnarayapuram (SC) Assembly constituency, located in Karur district of Tamil Nadu, is part of the Karur Lok Sabha constituency. The seat is reserved for candidates from the Scheduled Caste. According to 2011 Census estimates, the constituency has a predominantly rural population, with about 75.41 per cent living in rural areas and 24.59 per cent in urban areas. Scheduled Castes account for 24.54 per cent of the population, while Scheduled Tribes constitute around 0.08 per cent.
For the 2026 elections, the participating candidates are CK Raja (DMK/SPA), Dr. S. Dhivya (AIADMK/NDA), V. Sathya (NTK), and M. Sathya (TVK).
In the 2021 Assembly election, the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam won the seat with K. Sivagama Sundari securing 96,540 votes, or 53.37 per cent of the vote share. She defeated the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam candidate Muthukumar, who received 64,915 votes, by a margin of 31,625 votes.
The AIADMK secured 35.88 per cent of the vote, while the Naam Tamilar Katchi polled 5.37 per cent.
Historically, the constituency has alternated between the AIADMK and the DMK. The DMK won the seat in 2006 with P. Kamaraj. The AIADMK then secured consecutive victories in 2011 with S. Kamaraj and in 2016 with M. Geetha. The DMK regained the constituency in the 2021 Assembly election with K. Sivagama Sundari.
