Sudipta Das of the Bharatiya Janata Party has won the Bijpur constituency with 71,799 votes. She defeated Subodh Adhikary of the All India Trinamool Congress, who secured 58,456 votes, by a margin of 13,343 votes.
Bijpur is a general category constituency in North 24 Parganas, falling under the Barrackpore Lok Sabha seat. It is a semi-rural seat that was long dominated by the Left before TMC took control after 2011. In 2026, sitting MLA Subodh Adhikary of TMC faces BJP's Sudipta Das.
In 2021, Adhikary won with 66,625 votes, defeating BJP's Subhranshu Roy by 13,347 votes. In 2016, BJP's Subhranshu Roy (then a TMC candidate) had won with 76,842 votes. TMC's hold on the seat has grown in recent cycles. The Barrackpore parliamentary belt, dominated by BJP MP Arjun Singh (who has since returned to TMC), has seen significant political turbulence, making each assembly seat here volatile.
