Congress punishes Sachin Pilot, drops him from Karnataka campaign list

NEW DELHI: After having been a star campaigner for Congress in every state election in the recent past, Sachin Pilot has been left out of the list for the important Karnataka polls, in what seems a direct result of his renewed sniping at Rajasthan chief minister Ashok Gehlot.The star campaigners' list issued on Wednesday comprises all the important names, from party president Mallikarjun Kharge to the Gandhi siblings, and other national and state leaders, including Gehlot.However, the party included Pilot in the campaigners' list for the Jalandhar Lok Sabha byelection in Punjab. But it was hardly a compensation for being dropped from the list of campaigners for a key state like Karnataka. Interestingly, cricketer-turned-politician Navjot Sidhu too has not found a place in the Karnataka campaigners' list, but has been named for the Jalandhar polls.
