Vijayawada: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on Wednesday declared the class XII board examination results for the 2025-26 academic session, with the Vijayawada region securing the fourth position nationally by recording a pass percentage of 92.77%.
Thiruvananthapuram (95.62%), Chennai (93.84%) and Bengaluru (93.19%) bagged the first three spots, respectively, among the 22 CBSE regions in the country, while Prayagraj recorded the lowest pass percentage of 72.43%.
In the Vijayawada region, 24,885 students registered for the examination, including 12,874 boys and 12,011 girls. A total of 24,776 students appeared for the examination, of whom 22,985 cleared it.
Girls outperformed boys in the region, recording a pass percentage of 94.8%, compared to 90.87% among boys. Overall, the region recorded a 92.77% pass percentage, significantly above the national average of 85.2%.
The Vijayawada region comprises 369 CBSE-affiliated schools and 243 examination centres spread across
Andhra Pradesh. According to CBSE’s state-wise data, Andhra Pradesh recorded a 93.23% overall pass percentage. Of the 13,350 students who appeared from the state, 12,446 passed the examination. Girls recorded a pass percentage of 94.52%, while boys secured 92.03%.
Among institutions in the Vijayawada region, Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas (JNVs) recorded the highest pass percentage at 99.64%, followed by Kendriya Vidyalayas (KVs) at 99.04%. Govt schools recorded a 94.8% pass percentage, while independent schools posted 92.02%. Eklavya Model Residential Schools (EMRS) registered a 91.82% pass percentage.
