Tirupati: TDP leaders and committee convenors, who met for the first time at the maiden Mahanadu-2026 preparatory meeting held near the IFFCO Kisan SEZ at Kovur in Nellore district on Wednesday, vowed to make the party’s annual conclave a grand success.Speaking to reporters on the sidelines, home minister Vangalapudi Anitha said there is heightened enthusiasm among party cadre as this will be the first Mahanadu after HRD Minister Nara Lokesh’s elevation as the TDP’s national working president.TDP state president Palla Srinivas said Kovur in Nellore district has been chosen to host the three-day conclave from May 27 to 29.Kovur MLA Vemireddy Prashanti Reddy said around 40,000 party office-bearers, including chief minister Chandrababu Naidu, ministers, MPs, MLAs, MLCs, and corporation chairpersons, will attend deliberations on key development issues during the first two days. A massive public meeting on May 29 is expected to draw nearly 7 lakh people from across the State.She added that multiple committees have been formed to oversee arrangements for the event, which is being held in Nellore district for the first time in the TDP’s four-and-a-half-decade history.Nellore MP Vemireddy Prabhakar Reddy said preparations are underway on a 500-acre site near the IFFCO Kisan SEZ. While 200 acres will house the main venue, including the dais, galleries and other facilities, another 300 acres have been earmarked for parking to accommodate the expected turnout.
TDP spokesperson and accommodation committee member Kotamreddy Giridhar Reddy said hotels, homestays and function halls in and around Nellore have been fully booked for the three-day event. Despite limited availability, efforts are being made to ensure suitable accommodation for all attendees, he said.
